BelliniFoto (Kodak) D96 Film Developer is probably the only non-industrial sized, ready made available source of the specified developer for b&w motion picture stocks such as the gorgeous Kodak Double-X and other b&w motion picture films.

A lovely clean, gentle developer offering low to medium contrast (go longer for higher contrast), it is an extremely stable product with a balance in the main ingredients that is quite unique.

Vacuum sealed it has a long shelf life and can be used over and over until you see signs of a fall in contrast. By compensating with increased developing times it can last even longer, you decide when it’s had enough!

We do know that in our vacuum sealed bottles it goes six months between uses with some ease even when part used.

We have tested BelliniFoto (Kodak) D96 Film Developer with Double-X and it really does give that movie film look. This is a rare product to be honest, used as a stock solution this one litre bottle should, we are told, process about 100ft or 18 36 exposure rolls or so.

We also stock BelliniFoto Fix F5, the recommended fix for Double-X etc

All in all a very economical developer, we know it’s a excellent product, so if you love Double-X, this is a must try developer also, according to Ferrania, the best developer for their P30 b&w film!

I found it a lovely developer with ORWO UN54 and any traditional grain film I would think as per the data sheet here, needs continual very gentle agitation (5 inversions per min) and 7 mins to get a contrasty negative but full tonal range is very nice at 6min as well.

Developed 12 rolls of Kodak double-X in my bottle of this product at EI 200 through to 1600 over a period of 4 months, worked well every time.

So good to find this developer directly off the shelf. It’s well made and lasts realy well, I’ve used it for Double-X of course but also with FP4 where it’s gentle contrast works great.

Highly recommended as is this seller, it arrived well packed and in quick time.

Very happy and will be back for more and some of the other stuff they have too, there’s also things here that you can’t get anywhere else. Fantastic

I’ve finally found a combination I’m happy with, Orwo UN54 with this developer is fantastic, developed for 7 minutes gives good contrast and shadow detail.
