ECN2 Developing Kit by BelliniFoto for Processing Motion Picture Film Stocks is the first of it’s kind.
This a product we have been proud to introduce to stills photography with the lovely people at the factory, a kit that has paved the way for home processing of motion picture film stocks at home
The BelliniFoto ECN2 is proper chemistry from the Italian motion picture industry, this is not the powdered, unmonitored, potentially unsafe kits on offer elsewhere but actual proper motion picture chemistry made under controlled conditions by one of the finest photochemical makers in the world.
It’s easy enough to use but is recommended for those more experienced in film processing. We also stock fresh Kodak Vision3 Motion Picture Films to compliment this chemistry note that word there FRESH!
This chemistry has a huge yield of approximately 12-15 36exp films per litre…many report that they have had even more!
ECN2 chemistry is used in the motion picture industry to process colour film stocks such as Kodak Vision films and the old Fuji Eterna & Reala motion picture films. It is usually only available when purchased in industrial quantities…enough to fill swimming pools!
Not any more!!
According to the great Mr Bellini, shelf life can be up to two to three years, the developer should be stored with as little oxygen in the container as possible or best of all vacuum sealed.
This kit is one of two that we stock that is available to the home user…it is made from the highest quality materials as per all of the Bellini Chemistry and comes with full instructions which are available by clicking HERE.

I had no prior experience with developing Ecn2 and this kit makes the process straight forward. The remjet remover is exceptional, there’s a lot of horror stories about remjet removal but this was very straight forward and takes less than a minute and there was not a spec of remjet left on the negatives after fixing and final wash. Highly recommended!

With colour film being so hard to get right now I thought I’d have a go at some of the Nik and Trick Vison films and process them myself to save even more bucks.
A good call and even though you need to concentrate a bit more to do these but in the end results are truly marvellous.
The advice about coping with remjet was spot on and not too hard to do. My films are really clean with excellent colours so I’m putting this down as a good experience and one that I will repeat again and again
