Indicator Stop bath, 60% citric acid, odourless, the colour of course, changes when the stop bath is exhausted.

Stop bath prevents the alkaline developer from contaminating the fixer and exhausting it more quickly.  With film and PE Paper, it is also possible to use water between the developing and fixing.
