The first time that Richard (the “Trick” of the business name!) has allowed photos from his extensive family professional archive to be published in a book.
Done so this time in support of local historian Alan Taylor (no relation) who has done so much to raise interest in the town’s history over the years. (there are others’ photos too)
Thank you Alan for the lovely dedication to Richard’s late parents, both fully trained professional photographers that were the historic cause of the very existence of Nik & Trick :-)
Lost Folkestone presents a portrait of a town that has over the years radically changed and features photographs of many place that have long since disappeared.
It shows may of the buildings and the industries that have disappeared, it goes further and shows the lost environments and even some of the entertainments once enjoyed when this town was a fashionable resort and a place to be.
The photos will of course appeal to those that were born here or have lived here but also to visitors as the town claims back some of it’s appeal and reputation as a lovely place to be.
