Rollei Retro 80S Black & White Film is a gorgeous black & white film that offers fine grain, high sharpness, beautiful tones
• medium-speed super-panchromatic black and white film
• special coating to improve the transport properties of the film in the camera
• optimal flatness – can be used both in daylight and in artificial light without any restrictions
• due to the low blue-sensitivity of the emulsion, shots taken with a direct flash are less sensitive (this is based on using a direct flash with a colour temperature of approx. 6500K)
• extended red sensitivity up to 750 nm
• can also be used as an infrared film when used with filters
• extended exposure latitude (between 32 and 100 ISO)
• good for push/pull processing
• good tone reproduction – great maximum density
• transparent = ideal for scanning and as a slide
It is advisable to load in Rollei Retro 80S low light due to it’s acetate base
Mike Gallon –
I’ve just shot off my first roll of Rollei 80s, WOW! This film packs a punch, its slight move into the infa red make a devastating photograph. I dev’ed mine in HC110 for 8 mins and got perfect results. Rated at 80 asa out of the box, this was a test shoot to see how this stock performs, and it does. This is a film I’ll be using a lot Many thanks Nik and Trick.
Ibraar –
My favourite slow film. Beautiful dark tones and negatives are always beautiful and easy to scan.
For best results I use a yellow filter – with this you get wonderful glowing highlights.
Normally can be tricky to photograph with as highlights often blow BUT develop in Bellini Diafine and the results are perfecto.
