Thornton’s T2B Two-Bath B&W Film Developer MODIFIED VERSION! is our reformulation based on the fantastic original that offers even better tonality and accutance from this easy to deal with developer that so many know and love.

This formulation offers fantastic potential having a tweak to the developing agents whilst retaining the active ingredient.

Being so new you won’t find development times out there but hey…don’t fret, this is a two bath developer and the timings are therefore far less critical than your usual one shot developers.

Our guide so far states that you’ll be using 4.5 mins in each of Part A and Part B for films of box speed around 100asa rising to 5.5 minutes in each bath for films of around 400asa.

Better still it can be used to increase film speeds, develop again, (yes really!) before fixing using the same timings to add a stop, ie increasing 320asa to 640asa.

Then do it again so you raise that 640asa to 1250asa and you may even be able to take it one stop further, who knows!
