Yes we’ve been at it again with this brand new developer for black and white films!
23RX is a medium to low contrast black & white film developer with pretty good compensational performance. It offers extremely fine grain combined with a sharpness and definition that is hard to achieve with other developers.
This level of definition is obtained with little if any reduction in continuous tonal gradation. There is a true potential for effective film speed increase from one-half to one full stop if desired.
The sharpness and definition provided by 23RX makes it an especially ideal developer for those dedicated to the smaller formats, 16mm and half-frame 35mm down to sub-miniature and micro films.
It’s performance we feel is best suited with slower to medium speed films. We don’t think this the best for use with the really fast 3200asa emulsions though it’s proven happy to push 400asa films the one stop to 800asa nicely.
Supplied as a 250ml bottle 23RX can be diluted 1+29 or 1+19 for one shot use.
Made from the finest raw chemicals from BelliniFoto, shelf life is an impressive one year in original packing, four months or a little more when opened, but should be used within 24 hours once diluted.
All the usual darkroom safety precautions should be taken as you would with any other photographic chemistry.
So at the 1+19 dilution this 250ml bottle…gives 16.66 35mm or 12 120 in a Paterson tank a little more in Jobo tanks.
