Ilford XP2 Super 35mm 100ft is Ilford’s version is the best established of all the C41 (colour) process black & white films on the market.
It’s a fine way to shoot B&W in film cameras if you want the ease of the common C41 process…although here at Nik & Trick we process all types of film anyway!

We find this black and white film especially good for compact cameras where it’s super sharp, fast, fine grain properties work wonderfully.
It can be used for any photographic subject, but ensures excellent results when there is a wide subject brightness range having excellent highlights and improved shadows over other C41 process monochrome films allowing for lovely negative contrast for optimum black and white photographs.

I’ve bought this same 100’ roll only once before. I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the film type as well as being able to roll my own film using a bulk loader. Working with this much negative is intimidating as I do not have a dark room. I load the roll into my bulk loader using my darkroom changing bag. It’s a process but it definitely gets easier.
I love love love the contrast that is achieved while shooting with this film. I currently shoot on a “point and shoot” 35mm Olympus camera and it still successfully manages to achieve a well balanced contrast and exposure.
The first purchase last year did not come with stickers to label the film canisters but this recent purchase did! I love the addition if the stickers as well. They make labeling super easy by having specific stickers for specific film types. I would recommend this film type and format again and again and again. I absolutely love it!
