Nik & Trick’s Two Part “Dichotomic DIY Developer” makes up into two parts and acts a lot like Diafine. It keeps incredibly well long periods and this is an amazingly economical and versatile film developer….our test sample has been working now, though occasionally used for more than four years!
Intended and formulated for those that like to experiment, people who like to try new things and like to work to evolve them….we’re working on it too since being so new there’s no established online information!
No big deal as like Diafine the development times (so far!) are fixed at four minutes for Part A then Eight minutes for Part B….both adjustable….then wash and fix as per normal….easy.
Results show us that the tweaks to the original formula for improved contrast seem to work well, it offers a really nice calm tonal range, good accutance and nice grain structure.
You can click HERE for a peak at our instructions on mixing, use, storage and replenishing….MSDS are as per the ingredients and are readily available by contacting us.
Packaging, instructions and data are all likely to change as more findings are made….like any product really!
Dave Smith –
Always up to try somehting new so thought I’d give this a try out.
Surprisingly brilliant. Once mixed up you use each bath separately and get smooth results, good grain and real contrast.
Been using it on and off for a year now and like the guys say, it looks like a Cuppa soup but keeps on going and going giving great results all the way.
Highly recommended that more take this one up, good fun
