Anyone who is anyone and has been following us on a regular basis knows that we bought our “Snail Van” in January 2022 and have been restoring him ever since….yes a him, called Ambrose, which is what the snail in the original French childrens’ program Magic Roundabout was called (aka Brian the Snail in UK)
He’s attracted a lot of enthusiastic attention since day one, with increasing amounts lof love coming his way ever since.
Originally made as a desing exercise, up to the last run in 1990 only 8,000 were ever made, and then only for the domestic Japanese market.
Road laws in Japan mean that people rarely keep vehicle for more than a few years so there’s alway been a vigourous export market for that the rest of the world considers perfecetly good low milage vehicles.
Being right hand drive many ended up and surivive well in Australia with a few making their way to UK shores…there’s lot to find out there on Google of course!
So, given the bonkers brilliant enthusiasm and adoration shown by other owners around the world we approached Julian and got hime to make a limited number of these enamel pins.
