Pyrocat-HD the Nik & Trick Way…Pyrocat~HD is famous for being a semi-compensation, high-definition developer.  It was invented by the great and affable Sandy King.

We have chosen Pyrocat-HD and PMK as they are far safer alternatives to TEA based Pyro developers, which are highly Toxic in their concentrated form, though every precaution should be taken when using any Pyro developer, after all, common sense is the most important ingredient in any darkroom!

Our version is of course prepared, for convenience,  ready for ease of use and constructed for your convenience using the finest photographic grade raw chemicals from our colleagues at BellinFoto.

This fine pyro developer is known best for offering a range of advantages and virtues including;

• Semi-compensating in the highlights with variable contrast papers
• Similar tight grain, comparable to PMK Pyro
• Long Lasting, will store for up to a year or even more once opened, good eh!
• Very economical to use, dilutes 1+1+100
• Shorter development times required for similar density of negative
• Produces negatives suited to both silver and alternative printing processes with a 1/3 stop increase in film speed.
• Phenidone/Pyrocatechin based formula more suited to rotary, stand and tray processing and promises to produce almost no streaking when compared to other Pyro developers.

Supplied here in proper chemical safe bottles with child proof caps and in a sensible 2x 50ml which should yield 10x 120 films / 16x 35mm films…or now also in 100ml

To make the working solution it’s easy:  For every 100ml required add 1ml of Part A and 1ml of Part B.
