AGO Film Processor is for sure a product that we’re delighted to take on board, more so since dealing with these guys is fantastic…they’re our kind of people!
AGO is a really neat, really clever, really smart, well made little machine that replaces hand-agitating and temperature stress both of which can be less that reliable, with precise automation, temperature-aware timing, and tidy batch processing—whether you shoot a few rolls a month or much more.
Benefits:
- Super Consistent
- Compact and Frugal
- Total Control without Mess
- Safe: It’s rechargeable!
- Compatible with multiple processes
AGO in collaboration with Paterson uses their tanks which can be used with their reels of course but also with AGO reels that can handle many formats from 16mm to 10×8 and all Paterson tanks up to and including the eight reel tank so you can process a lot of films with minimal effort.
It’s also very frugal in terms of chemical usage since with horizontal rotational agitation you can save up to 60% on chemicals depending on your use case and the size of Paterson tank you decide to use.
So, load your films, pour the chemicals in as required and AGO will take care of it!
AGO will let you know when each step of your processes is due to end so you can be there nice and promptly to attend to each stage in good time.
You control and maintain agitation speed and time intervals, just set them to your liking!
No more stressing about your chemical temperatures
AGO’s groundbreaking time compensation system uses compensation graphs specific for each chemistry type, just temper your chemicals to the recommended temperature range and start developing.
AGO will compensate for the temperature drop-off or increase that occurs while agitating removing all of the stress of ruining your negatives.
You can connect to you AGO with you mobile phone via WiFi to create your own programmes or modify existing ones, AGO comes pre-programmed with some common processes already.

So all in all, what a wonferfull bit of kit. Just as an FYI here, we’ve been using more rotary processing this year due to work loads and we’ve found that films do tend to come our cleaner and morevenly developed so if you’re a real film lover, that ought to be enough for AGO to tempt you!

I purchased the AGO Processor from Nik & Trick back in October 2025, I believe mine is the mark II version. Its great, really made my B&W film processing a breeze, not having to worry about spot on temperature, as long as I’m a couple of deg over, by the time you pour the Dev in, its around 20 deg. The unit, if configured correctly, takes care of any temperature / time adjustments. Pour, start and leave for the dev time, means you can prep other things. It gives you a pre-time up warning and then a bleep to start pouring out. Just wish you’d sell the poring spout accessory. Only gripe I have, is the little rubber bung over the USB port is easy to knock out, fiddley to get back in.
