Washi 35mm
Washi Film Film W ~ 35mm 16 Exposures
£15.50 Inc. vat
Washi Film is a black and white photographic film developed from traditional paper, Washi….and here due soon is the all new 35mm version featuring 16 shots per roll (about as much as you would want at a time)
Made for centuries in Japan, this paper combines just the right physical properties with a unique aesthetic: strong, flexible and transparent,
Washi is the ideal medium for creating a hand-crafted photographic film.
What you get is a negative image on a white paper that can be scanned and inverted for unique photos with paper textures…they can also be printed as per other negatives in an enlarger and maybe used to make sun prints even.
This Film is orthochromatic: sensitive to the blue end of the spectrum while being relatively insensitive to the red. This means that developing Washi Film is easy as can be handled under a red safelight (> 545nm).
Maker’s preferred developers are paper developers Eukobrom and Ilford PQ Universal though any b&w paper developer will do the job….we even know of one chap processing it 1+100 in HC-110 with some lovely results!
