Ornano Nucleol BF200 B&W Film Developer by BelliniFoto, there are pyro developers a plenty and then there’s Ornano Nucleol BF200.
No other pyro developer touches this one….This is the developer that the guys at the Bellini factory rave about.
Revived and refined from the Ornano catalogue, this amazing product has all three of the magic qualities sought from any black & white developer let alone a pyrocatic one. This formulation evolved to make the best from modern emulsions it boasts:
- Fine Grain
- High accutance
- Great range and full Tonality
On top of that BF200 has considerable capacity for compensation and is equipped with great energy. All features that make it very suitable for maximising the sensitivity and potential of many films.

I’ve given this developer a go after using Hydrofen for a while, although more attention is required with mixing and ratios, it’s well worth it. I’ve used this developer on Fp4, hp5 and kodak vision films with great results.

I’ve used this on Tmax 100 and 400 with excellent results the tonality is beautiful also with other films eg GP3. I have made and used a lot of different Pyro developers over the years, notably Pyrocat HD which is wonderful, but this ready made pyro developer beats them all!

I’ve worked with about 20 developers over the years but this is probably my favorite of them all. You get everything you could possibly desire: a wide tonal range and the best of both worlds when it comes to sharpness and solvent effect.

Exactly why this is the one product the guys at the factory rave over 🙂

I’ve been a home developer for over 40 years, used most of the developers out there and thought i’d seen it all. I’ve used this on fomapan, kentmere, Ilford and Kodak films and it is, by miles, the best developer I’ve ever used. Spectacular results, especially pushing film, and never disappointed. Well done Nik & Trick for bring this one to us
