Tamron 689/T-135 Auto Adaptall 135mm f2.8 1st Gen Rarer Silver Version

Tamron 689/T-135 Auto Adaptall 135mm f2.8 is well known for being super pin sharp as are it’s successors but when I saw this white/silver version I said “Wow!”

I said “Wow” again when I saw it’s condition…we say near mint these days due to gumblers but here, this one is a minter, can’t find any marks on body nor glass, the rubber grip shows not the slightest sign of perishing and it comes with original case and original cap.

This lens feels really pucker with a well engineered all metal construction apart from the perspex, there were once both black and silver versions. Offered as a 5 element lens the rear element is just a flat/filter with a ~33mm threaded ring holding it in, which could be used for gells if you wanted.

Like all 1st gen adaptalls, this has a M42 style A-M (auto-manual) aperture switch. When using this lens with PK-M mount in manual (green button), or with PK-A mount in aperture priority (Av) mode, make sure this is set to “A”. To use Av mode with PK-M mount, set to “M” (flick to “M” to stop down at the moment of taking the picture).
