Nikon FM2n Lapita Club Edition One of Only 100 Made ~ New Old Stock!!
£2,225.00
Nikon FM2n Lapita Club Edition, only100 units ever made so much rarer than the Nikon Year of the Dog, Year of the Dragon or any Titanium limited edition. Even the sought after Millenium Edition consisted of 2000 units!
The LAPITA Club Edition was a special order made under the request by a Japanese magazine (小学館) in the year 1999. Sales began in the year 2000. Only 100 units available before Nikon discontinued the FM2 model completely.
This new old stock example comes with genuine cow leather in orange colour and with a strap with LAPITA wording on it.
A lucky find, this camera appears never to have been used and is pretty much new in it’s original packaging with the correct strap and never opened documentation.
Everything is right about this rare camera, meter works, viewfinder like the rest of the camera: new. The finish, the serial number, it’s packaging the lot. Pretty perfect.
Grays of Westmister have theirs on at £7,000, which I think given their overheads and clientele would be right, but now, before some folk start making noises about these prices how about we just consider for a moment.
Essentially this is a brand new camera. It has been bandied about the interweb at times: “Why don’t Nikon just start making the FM2 again?”
Yes why not? But having retooled a factory, redesigned it to meet modern standards and account for internal components no longer available and such, make new packaging, marketing and so on and so on what do you think a new FM2n would cost?
I’d say that any guesses (most would be uneducated ones!) under £3000 would be a ways off the mark!
